01 / Speaking
I give talks, join panels and lead conversations on how journalism decides who matters, and what that costs the people left out of the story.
I bring stories from newsrooms and communities, not slides full of theory, and I leave people with something they can use in their work the next day.

Talk
How the choices behind every story decide who an audience cares about.
Talk
Covering people as people who act, choose and resist.
Talk
Why reporting on responses, not only problems, changes what audiences do next.
02 / Work together
I work with people and organisations who want to take journalism seriously, not just as a product, but as a responsibility.
For newsrooms, universities, NGOs
Structured, reflective training on how the choices behind a story decide who gets seen.
Training →For teams and individuals
Focused help on one question, or ongoing support to rethink how you work.
Consulting →For projects that don't fit a box
Writing with or for your organisation, or a project you think I'd be right for. I'd love to hear about it, even if it doesn't fit any box here.

Background
03 / What I stand for
I believe journalism is, at its core, a profession of care and connection. It should represent people fairly and accurately, not flatten them into stereotypes. It should inform people about the problems and risks they face, and just as much about the solutions and possibilities available to them. And it should honour agency on both sides: portraying the people in a story as people who act, choose and resist, not only as victims of circumstance, while equipping its audience with that same sense of agency: the understanding and confidence to act in their own world too.
04 / aidóni
In 2022 I founded aidóni. It's where everything I believe about journalism gets tested in the hardest place to practise it: crisis and conflict reporting.
aidóni brings together community members, agents of change, researchers, storysharers and journalists from very different backgrounds, in its conversations, its events and its own team, to rethink and reshape crisis and conflict journalism so it's more people-centred, constructive, inclusive and solutions-oriented.
The guides
Practical guides for journalists, written together, through open workshops and co-writing groups, with people who know the subject from the inside.
The podcasts
Two podcasts where journalists, and the people their stories are about, talk about how those stories get told.
The conversations
Formats and spaces where people with direct lived experience, agents of change, academics and journalists come together to learn from one another and think together.
05 / Contact
A talk, a training, a project that doesn't fit a box. Tell me what you're working on and who it's for.
I'm often on the move. Get in touch to see if I'm passing through your city soon, and if I'm not, maybe we can make it happen. I'm happy to work online too.
For a talk, it helps to know
I'm often on the road, so it might take me a little while to get back to you, but I'll read your message and answer as soon as I can
