Consulting and mentoring

A second pair of eyes on your journalism

For newsrooms, NGOs and journalists who want to look harder at how they cover people: one focused question, a project to shape, or a longer stretch of work together.

We start from what you're working on. I ask questions, share what I've seen work, and we leave with clear next steps.

What we can work on

For teams and organisations with a specific question or project.

Editorial strategy

Rethinking how your newsroom or project covers communities: what you cover, who you talk to, and how you decide.

Coverage review

A close look at what you've already published: who's represented, how, and who's missing, with concrete suggestions.

Project design

Shaping a journalism or media project, a guide or a campaign, from the first idea to how it reaches people.

Storytelling for NGOs

Helping organisations tell stories about the people they work with, with their consent, their agency and their own words.

Something in mind that isn't listed here? Tell me about it.

03 / Mentoring

Someone in your corner

Regular conversations over a few months, to rethink how you work, build confidence and find a way of doing journalism you can sustain.

I've mentored representatives of European public broadcasters and journalists' unions for the International Federation of Journalists' Rewrite the Story project.

Mentoring is for

  1. 01

    Journalists

Reporters and editors who want to change how they cover people.

  2. 02

    Media leaders

People starting or leading a media project.

  3. 03

    Organisation representatives

People carrying change inside a broadcaster, union or NGO.

  4. 04

    Students and early-career journalists

People finding their place and their way of working.

05 / Larger projects

Something bigger?

Some work doesn't fit a session or a package, like mentoring twelve representatives of European public broadcasters and journalists' unions for the International Federation of Journalists' Rewrite the Story project.

If you're planning a longer collaboration, a programme or a project with several partners, get in touch and we'll work it out together.

Let's talk about it

What we'll discuss

  • 01 · What you want to achieve, and for whom
  • 02 · Who's involved, and how we'd collaborate
  • 03 · Timelines and milestones
  • 04 · Budget and how the work is priced
  • 05 · Languages, travel or online

06 / Questions

Questions you might have

How do sessions work?

By video call, in English, French or Spanish. Before the first one, you tell me briefly what you're working on, so we can use the time well.

Are the prices fixed?

No. They're starting points and open to discussion. I adapt for non-profits, freelancers, students and early-career journalists, so please don't let budget stop you from asking.

Can my organisation pay for my mentoring?

Yes. I can invoice you or your organisation.

Can consulting be combined with a training?

Yes. A coverage review followed by a workshop for the team works especially well.

07 / Get in touch

Tell me what you're working on

A few lines are enough. I'll come back to you with a suggestion for how we could work together.

It helps to know

  • 01 · What you're working on
  • 02 · What you'd like to come out of it
  • 03 · Your timeline
  • 04 · Language: EN, FR or ES

I'm often on the road, so it might take me a little while to get back to you, but I'll read your message and answer as soon as I can
